Xenoscapes
Xenoscapes is an ever-increasing suite of pen and ink drawings which depict billowing clots of ambiguous matter. Earth, flesh, hair, stone and bone are all equally suggested in the quivering and coiling arabesques which make-up each individual drawing. Stylistically drawing from underground horror comics and thrash-death metal album art, Xenoscapes envisions matter, or the material condition of life, in the vein of H.P. Lovecraft and Georges Bataille, as a swelling tumult of aggressive forces and heterogeneous processes. As Neitzsche once described it, the world is simply "a monster of energy".
